New Member Applications All applicants must FIRST register on the website/forums and use the application provided. The application has many questions to it, and we ask them all for valid reasons. The application is your first impression to us, so keep that in mind when you fill it out.
Once your application has been received it takes 10-15 days to process and review your application. This is mainly due to the volume of applications our meta-guild receives on a weekly basis. Please do not message officers or guild leaders in game for application status. All of our Officers and Guild Leaders do not handle applications, and consequently they cannot give you any additional information in-game. We receive 20-30 applications per week on average, process them in the order in which they are received, and email all applicants as quickly as possible.
When your application is submitted, a thread will be automatically created in the Officer Forums. These will all be archived when the new recruit is promoted to a full member, or if they are asked to leave. If a guild officer has cause to feel that an applicant would not make a good guild member, they are encouraged to bring this to the attention of the officers during the preliminary review period, either by posting in the recruit's application, or by contacting an officer directly. All such negative recommendations will be investigated when the recruit's application is considered for approval/denial.
Once an application has been reviewed and approved, you MUST visit our New Member Welcome Kit for further instructions on how to receive your in-game guild invite.
Minimum Level Requirements The minimum level for entry into The Stonewall Family is LEVEL 15 for all classes except Death Knights who are required to be LEVEL 60. This requirement also applies to incoming alts of existing members.
Character Names & Special/ALT Chracters We do not allow any international / special letters (such as õ æ or ę) in the names of characters applying for guild membership. Please do not use these chracters for your forum username either. Our forum software cannot process ALT characters/symbols and therefore we cannot accept player usernames or player character names as they can't be linked to your membership record with our guild. Please note that this requirement is not negotiable. Incidentally, Blizzard no longer allows these letters to be used in toon names on North American realms (as of patch 4.3).
Probation period All new members have a 14-21 day probation period (roughly two-to-three weeks) and in that time they should spend as much time as possible interacting with the guild - grouping with members, attending events/raids, being active in guild chat etc. After the initial probation period is up and the officers are satisfied that the person fits in with the guild, they will be promoted to full Family Member status. Players will receive an in-game mail from one of the Stonewall Staff notifying them of their promotion. If players have a recognized Authenticator on their account, they will be promoted to full Verified Family member at that point, which provides greater Guild Bank access (due to the higher security level of accounts with Authenticators).
In rare cases the probation period can be increased or even decreased at the officers' discretion based on comments from guild members. If there are still concerns over the suitability of a New Member at any point during their probation period they will be removed from the guild. Probationary members will not have guild bank access, but can contact an officer for assistance if an item is needed.
Members Removed for Inactivity Rejoin Policy As in most environments people will from time to time move onto other things or have a change of circumstances which requires a character to leave the guild. In some circumstances these AFG periods (away from guild) may be relatively short (1 or 2 months) in other cases it has been known to be years. To reflect the sense of camaraderie of the guild with both current and past members the following rules will apply to members re-applying for membership (this excludes those who are judged to have left the guild on "non friendly terms" or have been asked to leave the guild for whatever reason):
Time of absence from the guild = anywhere up to 2 months - if a player's toons go inactive within the guild from 0-59 days, we will not /gkick them for inactivity
Time of absence from the guild = 2 months or more - if a player's toons are inactive for more than 2 months they will be presumed to be abandoned and will be removed from the guild. Once a player has no remaining guilded toons their membership in the guild will be cancelled, and they will lose forum access. They will then need to submit a new application in order to return to the guild, and will be required to serve another probationary period on re-entry.
Shared Account Policy Shared accounts between anyone but parent and child violates Blizzard's ToS, and as a result is unacceptable for membership within the Stonewall Family meta-guild. There are numerous problems this can cause within our guild, and we do not wish to deal with any of them. If your account is shared, we will not approve your application for membership. If an issue arises with you as a current member, and during the course of our investigation we determine a shared account was involved - we will remove all of your characters from the guild immediately.
Dual Citizenship within the Family and other Guilds The Stonewall Family has a very positive reputation on Proudmoore which we value very highly. We speak to several other guild's GL's and officers regularly. We have somewhat informal alliances with most of them. Our guild does not have a policy against Dual Citizenship with any guild that we are on positive terms with and have had no hostilities toward. This includes both the Alliance and Horde side guilds.
However, if you have a toon guilded in another guild which has been known attempt to cause drama to or within the Stonewall Family (a.k.a. a "hostile guild") or are a former member of one of these guilds -- we will expect you to be open and honest with the officers here so that we are aware of it and can address the issue with you privately.
We also expect you to be an adult and not use your membership within our family to cause drama that relates to another guild. If you are found to violate this policy, or we determine that you are recruiting our members for the guild you are dual-citizenship'd with -- you will be shown the door quickly, plain and simple.
