Guild banks? What are these "guild banks" that you speak of?
The Stonewall Family maintains in-game guild banks for all of its guilds, where guild members can deposit items for other guild members to use and withdraw items for their own use. These guild banks can be found in every major Alliance city in-game plus Shattrath and Dalaran. A list of guild bank locations can be found here: http://www.wowwiki.com/List_of_bank_locations
Who can use the guild banks?
Members who have attained the guild rank of "Verified Family" in the ingame roster of their guild. To achieve that rank, a player must be out of probation (ie. no longer "New Member" status on the guild roster) and must have an authenticator attached to their Battle.Net account.
Note: the detection of an authenticator is controlled by the WoW client and Battle.Net interface, not by guild staff. After a player's character (whether new member or an alt) first joins the guild, it takes up to 3 days for an authenticator to be detected. If an authenticator is present on the account, but is not detected even after 3 days post-joining, the player will need to contact Battle.Net support directly. Guild staff cannot override this setting.
The guild banks have multiple tabs that contain items such as weapons and armor, quest items, professions materials, etc. Each guild member has a certain number of daily withdrawals from each tab and this number may vary from guild to guild. There are also restricted tabs set aside for high-value items, rare items, etc. that only officers can access.
In order to keep the various bank tabs better organized, each guild bank has one "Deposit Only" tab. Members will only be able to deposit items to this tab. This will allow the officers to properly process the contributions and ensure that they end up in the correct tab or the correct bank.
What am I allowed to take from the guild banks?
You are allowed to take anything from the guild banks that you plan to currently use on any of your toons that belong to the guild. This includes weapons/armor, profession items, quest items, consumables, etc. When necessary, you may also take things for friends in the guild to use if you happen to be near the bank and your friends are not.
What am I NOT allowed to take from the guild bank?
You may not take items from the guild bank for toons that are not in a Stonewall Family guild, whether they are your own toons or friends' toons. These items are for Stonewall members only.
You may NOT take things from the guild bank and sell them, either to a vendor OR on the auction house. This includes taking raw mats, crafting an item with them, and selling the item. This constitutes a violation of Stonewall Family's guild bank policy and will result in loss of guild bank privileges. Guild bank items are for guildies to USE, not to make a profit.
Enchanters, please don't take weapons and armor out of the bank to disenchant for mats. Those things are there for people to use as-is. If we seem to have a lot of a particular item and you'd like to DE one or two of them, ask an officer first.
Please use common sense and courtesy when making guild bank withdrawals. Stockpiling is not allowed. If you see a large quantity of a profession item in the bank, such as cloth, gems, herbs, etc, don't grab them all -- leave some for your fellow guildies! Additionally, don't take things that are far above your level just so you can use them in the future. It's fine to grab that great level 60 item when you're level 58, but don't grab a level 70 item for that level 3 toon that you just rolled. There will be other stuff for you by the time you hit 70.
Please note that the officers monitor the guild bank logs regularly, and we will contact you if we see that you have engaged in any suspicious guild bank activity.
What should be deposited in the guild banks? What shouldn't?
We strongly encourage Family members to deposit useful items in the guild banks for their fellow guild members to use. There is no requirement to deposit anything, and no reward other than the sense of satisfaction from helping your fellow guildies. Still, especially if you frequently take GB items, it's good to give back once in a while.
Please be aware of the level range for your guild, and deposit things in the bank that can be used by that level. So, for example, there's no use in depositing an item that requires level 29 in our guild for level 60 and up. You can always mail it to an alt in the correct sub guild and deposit it at your convenience, or ask an officer if you can mail it to them, so they can get it to the right guild.
Do NOT deposit gray "vendor trash" items in the bank, or 1 or 2 pieces of something that stacks in lots of 20 or more. We don't need guild bank slots taken up by 3 peacebloom or 6 linen cloth.
Finally, don't flood the bank with something we already have. If there are 10 stacks of runecloth, we probably don't need 10 more for at least a little while. Also, our guild banks are not a dumping ground for your profession leveling. When your alchemist makes 40 elixirs of minor agility, or your scribe makes 30 glyphs please just vendor them.
How do I get items from the restricted tabs?
As with any other task where you require assistance from an officer or senior member, just follow one simple process: /join Stonehelp and make your request in that channel. It's constantly monitored by officers and senior members who can help you with your request. If by chance you cannot get someone to assist you right away, just let them know to which toon they can mail the item(s) and you'll receive them via an in-game message.
Note that the same rules apply to the high value tabs as to the rest of the guild bank. You can only request items that you or one of your guilded alts can currently use. If you're ever not sure about being able to use take something from the bank, or have any other questions regarding our banks, please feel free to /join Stonehelp and ask away.
What about the gold in the guild banks? Where is it from? What is it for?
The gold stored in our guild banks is from two primary sources:
donations from members
guild perk auto-deposits
auction house sales of banked items or disenchanted mats from the guild banks.
We do not require any of our members to donate gold to the bank, however any donation from a member is welcomed.
We use the gold in the guild bank for purposes that benefit the meta-guild and our members as a whole. Some examples are: purchase of additional guild bank tabs, prizes for guild-wide contests, and purchase of in-game items or abilities to benefit the guild. Only guild leaders have access to the gold in any of the meta-guild's banks, and are primarily responsible for determining which expenses the funds are spent on.
